Welcome to the official website of the St. Paul Fire Department.
The St. Paul Fire Department is comprised of 39 members, including a full-time Fire Chief and Deputy Fire Chief. We provide services to the Town of St. Paul, as well as an area of nearly 1000 square kilometers of the County of St. Paul.
The history of our Fire Department is a long and storied one. It all began back in 1945 when the community, including a group of veterans who came together to form an official Fire Brigade so that businesses could get insurance. From its early beginnings with a homemade firetruck to where we are today is truly amazing.
Our Firefighter’s are exceptionally trained, with most of them holding NFPA 1001 Level II Firefighter certification. We have our own local training facility that enables us to instruct other firefighters from around the region. We provide service in the following areas: Fire Suppression, Vehicle Extrication, High-Angle Rescue, Ice Rescue, Hazardous Materials Response and Medical Assistance as requested.
Leading this amazing group of dedicated individuals is truly an honour and quite humbling. If you have any questions regarding our department, or have comments about the website, feel free to contact me directly at tkotowich@town.stpaul.ab.ca
Sincerely,
Trevor Kotowich
Director of Protective Services/Fire Chief
